The hike from Hallingskeid to Osa is 22 kilometers long in a varied and occasionally challenging terrain. The hike starts at Hallingskeid, which you can reach by trains going towards or from Oslo or Bergen. From Hallingskeid, you will follow the Rallarvegen some of the way until you reach the T-marked trail towards Moldåni and cross the river there. Continue up Badalen and og towards Rembedalseter. On your way, you will be offered a spectacular view over the Hardangerjøkulen and Nedre Grøndalen. The terrain can be challenging, especially if there are patches of snow remaining on the mountaintops. As you near Osa, you will have a spectacular view over the fjord before a sharp decline via Osete. In Osa, you can pitch a tent or spend the night at Osa Basecamp, which also offers a café and washrooms. From Osa there is a 10 kilometer asphalted road going to Ulvik, where you can hike, bike or drive. It is also possible to be picked up via taxi in Osa.
